The family would like to acknowledge Steve Stemm, "the best friend a person could ever have", for his 24-hour full-time attention to Fred by way of daily visits, errands, care and upkeep of his home, and attention to detail as his medical power of attorney. No words are adequate to express the gratitude for his devoted time, effort, loyal friendship, and worry on Fred's behalf. Also, Keri Ripperger went out of her way to visit Fred on a regular basis and offer assistance and suggestions as someone who looked out for Fred like he was an uncle. Her longtime friendship was a source of constant comfort to him. We would also like to thank Kate Malarney, nurse for the Indianapolis archdiocese, who has followed up on Fred's health for the past few years and was a resource and concerned friend in this last year of major struggle. Many thanks also to Mary Jo Hardesty for providing monthly cleaning at his residence and offering assistance with various errands and other requests. We are also grateful to the many Doe Valley staff members and local EMS who assisted him when he fell and was incapacitated at his home. Thank you all for your extra efforts in looking out for him. Finally, thanks to the many nurses and health care providers at all the facilities who treated Fred. Your professionalism and compassion meant a lot to him.
