George W. "G.W." Carroll

GEORGE W. "G.W." CARROLL, 60 years of age, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. The son of Iris (King) Carroll Moore and the late Woodrow Carroll, George was born April 11, 1949 in Leitchfield, Kentucky. He was an employee of I.A.T.S.E. Local #17 Stagehands, was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and member of VFW Post #1693 in New Albany.

Survivors include his mother, Iris R. (King) Carroll Moore of New Albany IN; step-mother, Margaret Carroll of Louisville KY;

sister, Rita K. Carroll Mudd of Louisville KY; half-sisters, Cindy Carroll and Mary Lou Carroll Robben, both of Louisville KY;

nieces, Deanna, Bridget, Blair and Emily; nephews, Scott and James; 3 great nieces; 2 great nephews; 3 great great nieces; and lots of friends.

George was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Carroll, and a half-sister, Jean Carroll Davis.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 24, 2010 and after 10:00 am Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service and military honors will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Kraft Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
