George "Sonny" Cobb

George "Sonny" Cobb, age 88, of New Albany, Indiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Floyd Memorial Hospital. He was born in New Albany, Indiana on February 12, 1934 to the late George Orvil Cobb Sr. and Theresa May (Juliot) Cobb. Sonny attended Holy Trinity Catholic School. He served as the Basketball Coach for the Catholic Youth Organization and also coached baseball at New Albany Little League where he was the first Vice President. Sonny worked for G. E. Appliance Park as a Multi-Press operator from 1955 until his retirement in 1994. In his free time, Sonny was an avid outdoorsman. Along with hunting and fishing, he enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrel's. He also enjoyed his collection of coins he had acquired over the years. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Cobb; one, sister, Theresa D. Underwood and one step grandson, Michael Stepro. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Cobb (Brenda), Harold Cobb (Krissy), and Chris Cobb; step-son, Larry Leach and step-daughter, Darrenda Stepro; grandchildren, Matt and Patrick Cobb; step grandchildren, Craig Stepro, Paul Stepro and Daniel Leach; great grandchildren, Lilly and Tyler; step grandchildren, Christopher Stepro, Daelynn Wever and Rylee Wever; one brother, Michael Cobb; two sisters, Janet Hockman and Carol Dehn. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.
