OBITUARY
George J. Englert
March 19, 1922 – March 17, 2014
GEORGE J. ENGLERT, 91, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. The son of the late George and Cecelia (Kippenbrock) Englert, George was born March 19, 1922 in St. Anthony, Indiana. He was a WWII Army veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart and was a member of VFW Post 1693 in New Albany. George retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen M. (Andres) Englert; daughters, Pamela Joan Belden and Karen Rose Waters; sister, Dorothy Zeller; brother, Kenneth Englert; grandchildren, Sara and Clay Waters and Jonathan (Patty) and Matthew Belden; great grandchildren, Lily, George, Phoebe and Edy.
Visitation will be 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Thursday and after 11:00 am Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. There will be a Rosary Service at 4:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. His Funeral Mass will be 1:00 pm Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
