GLORIA G. "GERRY" BARNES, 86, passed away April 16, 2015 at Clark Memorial Hospital. The daughter of the late Joseph Walker and Mae Beard White, Gloria was born March 24, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She retired from Kmart in Clarksville after 26 years of service and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Clarksville. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Barnes; children, Cheryl Baker and Gloria Shemwell; and siblings, Josephine Norris and Roy White.
Survivors include her children, Mark Huff, Daryl Barnes, Evelyn Barnes, Raymond Barnes, and Wayne Barnes; siblings, Donna Wiseheart, Sandy Myers, and Joe Walker; 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12:00 pm ~ 4:00 pm Saturday and after 12:30 pm Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
