Horst Steinbrenner, 77, passed away January 14, 2013 at his home holding his wife’s hand. He was born October 3, 1935 in Feldberg, Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1961 as a civil engineer. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and The Shriners. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a devoted Papaw.
He is survived by his wife Linda Becht Steinbrenner, sons: Frank (Sheila) Steinbrenner, Eric (Suzanne) Steinbrenner, Chris Plaiss, and Rob (Karla) Plaiss, daughters: Kim Gibbons and Amber (Mark) Williamson, grandchildren: Cody, Kayla, Elise, Connor, Carson, Meghan, Macy, Kamryn and Sarah.
Memorial Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, IN. His Memorial Service will be 5:00 pm Saturday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with a reception to follow. Private inurnment will take place at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
