

HUEY M. BLACK, 78, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany with his family by his side. He was born February 17, 1936 in Newark, Ohio to the late Walter T. and Virgie L. O’Banion Black. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Black. He was a member of the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post #28, Redmen Club, and High Caliber Club. He loved to throw horseshoes and playing cards, especially euchre with his family. He and his wife, Roberta, celebrated their 59th anniversary on the 5th of this month.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Croft, Dr. Aiken, and Dr. Chowhan and Huey’s favorite beautiful nurses for their special care.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Booth Black; children: Portia Quinkert and her husband, Tom, Jim Black and his wife, Pam, and Janie Rudy and her husband, Steve; grandchildren: Starla Vittitow and her husband, Brian, Holly Miller and her partner, Mark, Tyler Rudy and his partner, Lorena, Jared Black and his wife, Sarah, Troy Rudy and his partner, Heather, Brendan Quinkert; and Carrie King and her husband, Joe; great-grandchildren: Dylan, Isabelle, and Mason Vittitow, Elena Rudy, Kassie, Emma, and Oliva King; and one on the way; siblings, Juanita Riordan, Bill Black and Linda Davis; and many extended family members.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and after 10:00 am Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Saturday in the funeral home chapel with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana.
