Obituary of Irene L. (Blevins) Paul
Irene L. (Blevins) Paul, 92 years of age, formerly of Greenville, Indiana entered into eternal life on June 14, 2018. Irene was born November 2, 1925 in English, Indiana to the late John A. and Margaret L. (Breeden) Blevins. She retired after 25 years of service from the Professional Arts Lab, where she worked as a medical lab technician for Doctors Neddelkoff, Past and Jones. Upon her retirement she relocated to Floral City, Florida where she lived with her canine companion, Andy. She led an active life with her Church, Our Lady of Fatima. While serving there she sponsored the donut and coffee club, as well as, raised proceeds for “Pennies for Priests”. She also commissioned the bicentennial portrait of the Church. She was an avid card player, participating in pinochle, and euchre clubs in and around Floral City, Florida, and enjoyed visiting with her many friends and always kept her mind sharp as an avid cross word puzzle solver. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Katharyn, Martha, and Ruth, all whom were very close throughout their lives and her husband Robert “Bobby” C. Paul. During their marriage they raised four children who survive, Margaret Carman West, Anthony Blevins Paul, Timothy Louis Paul, and John Kevin Paul. Survivors also include 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. Irene led a very spiritual life always serving in her Church. She was supportive of those who may be in need or care, and was a very resilient woman who had many friends across Southern Indiana and Central Florida. She maintained contact with them through letters and cards because she felt staying in touch with friends and especially family was an important thread of her life. She also wished all who may read this to reflect, support, and be friendly to others, while respecting all aspects of life. Irene will be sadly missed by those who love her, knew her and her grace. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Harrison Health Care Center in Corydon for their professional and respectful care. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. Expressions of sympathy should be made in the form of being considerate and helpful to others throughout ones journey of life. Online condolences may be made to www.kraftfs.com
