

Isreal E. Douglas, age 85, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Isreal was born November 28th, 1939 in Adairville, Kentucky to the late Frederick Douglas and Luna (Taylor) Douglas. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Isreal was a part of the generation that made America run, he was a former truck driver, but was most proud of being a security guard at several security companies in the area. He had a love for Blues music and was known for his sense of humor. Isreal grew up hunting, and playing baseball and that love continued as a Dodgers fan. He spend time as a member of the Thomas English Elks Lodge #1500, St. John's Masonic Lodge #8 in New Albany and Masonic Lodge # 108 in Indianapolis.
Isreal was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Cyrila Douglas and Irene (Douglas) Smith; and his brothers, Robert Douglas and Rayburn Douglas.
Isreal is survived by his loving wife, Dillie (Hicks) Douglas; his children, Sheila Douglas, Gerald Hicks, and Ernest Hicks; his granddaughter, Tymeisha Burrage; his great grandchildren; his brothers, Claybon Douglas Sr. (Juanita) and James "JB" Douglas (Caroline); sister-in-laws, Martha Douglas and Janice Douglas; his brother-in-law, Clyde Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Isreal will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on January 25th, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. His Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 PM with an entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
