JAMES "BERT" SWEARINGEN, 85, died Sunday, November 23, 2014. He was born October 10, 1929 in Vanceburg, Kentucky to the late James Stanley Swearingen and Alma Ettel. Bert worked for Bunny Bread and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Greater Louisville Bowling Hall of Fame, Wooded View Senior League and Ohio Falls United Methodist Church. Along with his parents, Bert was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley and Harry Swearingen and sister, Helen Cassidy.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Jean (Parris) Swearingen; children, James Todd Swearingen (Debby) and Rebecca Rosenberg; sister, Doris “Deanie” Hyman; and grandchildren, Sydney and Andrew Rosenberg and Ian and Trevor Swearingen.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday and after 10:00 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Wednesday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
