James H. Walter Sr.

JAMES H. WALTER, SR., 68, died Friday, May 13, 2016 at his residence. The son of the late Harold Franklin and Wilma Louise Eisenmenger Walter, Jim was born January 12, 1948 in New Albany, Indiana. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having attained rank of Spc 5, and was retired from Merrel Bierman Excavating in Floyds Knobs. Jim’s passion was owning, driving, and building stock cars and street rods.

Survivors include his wife, Trudy Ann (Rewalt) Walter; children, James H. Walter, Jr. (Angela), Jason Walter (Katina), Tami Gibson (Greg), Thad Neafus (Holly), and Tracy Redd (Steve); siblings, Janet Gill (John), Barbara Greene (Marvin), Bonnie Curry (Phil), and Jodie Seng (Charlie); and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 pm to 8 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany. His Funeral Service will be 11 am Tuesday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with burial with military honors to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
