Obituary of Jerry Frank Klockmann
NEW ALBANY – Jerry Frank Klockmann, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022. He was born in San Mateo, California, to the late Ruth (Riddle) Klockmann and Frank E. Klockmann. Jerry grew up in New Albany, Indiana, where he loved to play baseball, hunt, fish, spend weekends at his grandparent’s farm in Crawford Co., IN, and travel the United States with his parents and his sisters. He was a 1968 graduate of New Albany High School and a 1972 graduate of Purdue University where he earned a B.S. in Forestry. Jerry loved New Albany, Floyd Central and Purdue athletics, traveling the scenic backroads, his walking club and talking to his friends. Also, his interest in hunting and fishing never wavered. Jerry enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and soccer (the Blue Bombers) and the time he spent with his family and close friends. Jerry loved the Nashville music scene and he was a bluegrass and country music encyclopedia. Every summer you could find Jerry at the Kentucky and Indiana State Fairs. Jerry was a member of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 369, a former surveyor and construction project manager. Most recently, he was employed by several car dealerships for which he delivered new cars throughout the Mid-West. Jerry will be remembered for his deep love of family, his love of country, his genuine interest in others, his sense of humor and his faith in God. Left to cherish his memory: wife, Darilynne (Jackson) Klockmann; sons, Seth Klockmann (Abby) and Alex Klockmann; grandchildren, Brooks and Skylar Klockmann; sisters, Terri Kay Jordan and Sherri Banet; niece, Erin Banet (Will Sieg); nephews, Corey Banet, Jason Jordan and Jeremy Jordan (Kelsey); one great-niece, three great-nephews and his dear cousins. Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN from 2 PM to 8 PM Thursday, January 27, 2022 and 11 AM – 1 PM Friday, January 28, 2022 until the service at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. The family requests expressions of sympathy to the American Heart Association and the Arbor Day Foundation.
