Jim M. Thomas
October 13, 1951 – November 26, 2019

James "Jim" Michael Thomas, Sr., 68, a native of New Albany, Jim died at home after along battle with Cancer. He was a professional carpenter and a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union for 25 years. He owned his own trim carpentry business and worked at several hardware stores in the area. His last position was at ACE hardware in New Albany. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Connie (Watson) Thomas of New Albany; four children, Troy of Portland Oregon, James Jr.(Bella) and Ray (Kerri) both of Jeffersonville and Lee Ann (Chris) Cooper of New Albany; five grandchildren, Jacquee (Ron) Trotter, Mikayla (James) Murphy, Paxton Cooper, Dean Thomas and Oscar Thomas and three great grandchildren, Parker Trotter, Winston Trotter and Thomas Murphy; four brothers, Donald, Patrick (Mary Ann) both of Floyds Knobs, John (Doreen) of Georgetown and Irvin G. Jr. (Karen) of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Evelyn Arnold of New Albany, Barbara (Keith) Conrad of Johnsonville, TN and Patty (Ron) Byerly of Laconia; 38 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his daughter, Carmen Thomas Masterson and his parents, Betty J. and Irvin G. Thomas, Sr.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, November, 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at St Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 415 E 8th Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with a reception immediately following Mass in Trinity Hall.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
