He graduated NAHS in 1960, attended The University of Americas in Mexico City and Indiana University Bloomington. Jack chose an eclectic career path and was an entrepreneur at heart. He was owner of Tape Town/Stereo City in Shively during the late 60s and early 70s, night manager at Seelbach and Watterson hotels and later PR director at the Louisville Museum of Natural History and Science (now the Louisville Science Center). After leaving, Jack went on to operate a digital photography studio. He also enjoyed tending bar in Louisville’s Theater District, where he made many friends and memories. Jack loved animals and was active for several years in Feline Spay and Neuter programs. He was a voracious reader which led him to be involved in Science Fiction fandom and conventions, most notably RiverCon. Jack loved music, both listening and playing, and passed that love to his children.
Jack is survived by his son, Rand Heazlitt; a daughter, Kira Tash (Edward) and Grandson, Benjamin Tash (Holly).
Arrangements under the direction of Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road.
