John Joseph Ryan

John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Libby Baird Ryan; daughter, Melissa Babbs (Travis); sons, John R. Ryan (Mandy) and Joseph Ryan (Megan), all of Henryville IN; father, John G. Ryan of Clarksville IN; and sister, Patricia Funk (Tom) of Elizabeth IN. John showered love as “O’Paw” to his 7 grandchildren, Ayla Ryan, Eden Ryan, Charleigh Ryan, Alek Babbs, Brayden Babbs, Madelyn Abel and Casen Babbs and one on the way, John Abram Ryan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Etta Rae Lukemeier Henri Shear.

John graduated from Clarksville High School (Indiana) and United Electronics Institute (Louisville, KY). He retired from Cherry-Burrell (Louisville, KY). John, an avid sportsman, has 4 record-scoring deer to his credit. He was a devoted farmer and his love of farming has been passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 3, 2015 and from 12:00 pm ~ 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. A Remembrance Service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.

John’s last request is that his love be remembered by family and friends.
