

Funeral services for John C. Schopper, 50, of Sellersburg, Indiana will be at noon Friday, Nov. 4, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with cremation and entombment to follow. He died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
The son of Eldridge “Tinker” Schopper and the late Dana Goodwin Magil, he was born April 6, 1961 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a sales representative for Gordon Food Service and veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Nancy Givens; two children, Christian Schopper, of Louisville, and Nicole Schopper Heck and her husband, Brian, of Jeffersonville; granddaughter, Kyla Heck; siblings, Gretchen Schopper Smith and her husband, Garry, of Wales Center, N.Y., Deborah Reese Thomson and her husband, James, of West Falls, N.Y., Joseph J. Reese, of Ocean City, MD, and Louis A. Schopper, of Lackawanna, N.Y.; aunt, Dr. Lisa Brothwell, of Colden, N.Y.; and uncle, Charles Brothwell, of Orchard Park, N.Y.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 3rd and after 10 a.m. Friday, November 4th at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the John C. Schopper Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o New Albany High School.
