Obituary of Jonathan Casey Kraft
Jonathan Casey Kraft, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Clarksville, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born January 25, 1987 in Louisville, Kentucky to Lisa Sparkman Fraley and Robert Kraft. Casey graduated from New Albany High School and would become a regional favorite waiter and bartender. His excellent service to his customers and team created friends at places such as Ramsi’s Café of the World, The New Albany Exchange, Brooklyn & The Butcher, and Mr. Lee’s Cocktail Lounge where he ventured into creating a unique atmosphere and drinks on his own. He moved to Charlotte in 2019 to join the family business, Well Krafted Roofing, with his brother, Coby, and his father, Robert, sister Sara, and brother-in-law, Darr to follow. As a Project Manager at Well Krafted Roofing, Casey oversaw several key accounts and interacted with their crews and customers on a daily basis. Casey’s charm, wit and humor won over all who interacted with him. Over the four years that he worked in the family business, Casey grew to become an invaluable team member and asset. He recently received a promotion and a new truck which he was very excited about. Casey was definitely his nieces’ and nephews’ favorite uncle and he loved them equally as much. Casey would love to spoil his nieces and nephews with extravagant gifts, piggy back rides, and chase them around the yard. Casey had a huge heart for dogs and leaves behind his beloved weimaraner, Fynrir, in the care of his family in Charlotte. His nephew, Bodie, innocently told his babysitter that he saw Casey had gone to Heaven when Bodie pointed to the sky saying he could see Casey with two other angels. How Casey was greeted into heaven is a beautiful memory that his family and friends will always carry with them. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Dorothy Kraft; cousin, Cray Trimble, and uncle, Brad Kraft. Casey is survived by his mother, Lisa Sparkman Fraley and husband Mark; father, Robert Kraft; siblings, Sara Simpson and husband Dave, Coby Kraft and wife Taylor, Alex Thompson and husband Darr; nieces and nephews, Cruz & Greenley Simpson, Bodie & Indie Kraft, Remi, Ridge, and Ryder Thompson; grandparents, Carol Sparkman, Ron & Linda Sparkman; special aunt and friend, Ronda Sparkman Trimble and husband Tom; best pup, Fynrir; and many extended family, friends, and team members. A Celebration of Casey’s Life for Charlotte friends and family will be held on March 25 from 12-3pm at The Hop Shop (one of his happy places). Service at 2pm. The Hop Shop - 818 Lamar Ave, Charlotte, NC 28204.
