Joseph Edward Blevins

JOSEPH EDWARD BLEVINS, 63 years of age, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. The son of the late Carl E. and Elva Jean (Schwinger) Blevins, Joe was born October 22, 1946. A native of Hardinsburg, Indiana, he was a graduate of West Washington High School, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, and a retiree of General Electric Company. Joe was a member of Wesley Chapel U.M.C., the New Albany Lions Club, the Kentuckiana Square Dance Association, and Southside Squares.

Survivors include his wife, Rita A. (Bell) Newlin Blevins of New Albany IN; siblings, Charles M. Blevins of Hardinsburg IN,

William G. Blevins of Jeffersonville IN, James D. Blevins of Sellersburg IN, Craig Blevins of Hampton Bays NY, Julia A. Chesson of Bath NC and Rev. Nancy Blevins of Kokomo IN; step-children, Rick D. Newlin and Roni L. Newlin Montgomery, both of New Albany; and grandchildren, Kelsey Newlin and Dylan Montgomery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service with military honors will be 11:00 am Friday, May 7, 2010 in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with burial to follow in Union Chapel North Cemetery in Hardinsburg, IN.
