Joe was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was born and raised in Leslie County, KY. Joe spent 3 years in the Marines, proudly serving during the Korean War. He was later a valued employee with Hillerich and Bradsby for 35 years. During this time he received many awards and recognitions for his hard work and dedication to the company.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Mary Couch; his brothers, Bill, Virgil, Ned, Fred, and Logan Couch, and his sisters, Celia “Jean” Harris, Dorothy Conover and Martha Gregory.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Flora Jean; his daughters, Jo Ann Couch and Tonya Rieger (Tim); his grandchildren, Joshua Edwards and Holly Conaway. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Bingham, Nellie Gregory, and Goldie Schriml, and many nieces and nephew.
Joe was a kind and gentle man, whose integrity, honesty, and desire to help others was unsurpassed. He would do anything for those he loved and will be missed by many, but especially by those that knew him best.
