

JOSEPH BERNARD KLEIN, 86 years of age, died Saturday, November 19, 2016. He was born March 4, 1930, in Floyds Knobs (Clark Co.), Indiana to the late Joseph M. and Frances Helen (Schneider) Klein. Joe was a retired foreman with the old Paramount Plywood Products Company and was an Army Veteran. He married his wife of some 61 years, Marilyn Delores (Missi) Klein, on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1955 and was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany. He was also a 3rd degree member of the Cardinal Ritter Council #1221 Knights of Columbus in New Albany. Joe will be fondly remembered for his love of family, outdoors, woodworking, sense of humor and storytelling. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Preceding him in death were his parents and three siblings, Eleanor Helbig, Rose Langford, and Mary Lenz.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marilyn D. (Missi) Klein; three daughters, Joni Meyer (Tom), Geri Klein (Robert Blackerby), and Julie Hammond (Chuck); six grandchildren, Justin O’Brien (Tarrah), Jerrett and Kevin Rowley, Alex Bower and Grayson and Bradley Hammond.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 and after 9:00 am Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of New Albany with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of New Albany.
