

A master electrician by trade, Joe took pride in the work he did. He spent much of his free time fishing, hunting, and enjoying nature. He had a special affection for animals, especially his dogs. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army, demonstrating dedication, integrity, and honor throughout his time in uniform. Following his faithful service, he was honorably discharged and carried the values of duty and commitment with him throughout the rest of his life.
Joe is survived by his children, Alexis Meriwether (Vince Mathews) & Branden Meriwether (Helen Priddy); the mother of his children, Hollie Meriwether; Father, Richard Meriwether (Rhonda Meriwether); Siblings, Millette Haas, William Meriwether, Shelby Meriwether, Ashley Meriwether, and Stephanie Cravens Decker; nieces, Bekah Meriwether, Kierstin Hall, Trysta Ussery, Kailin Ussery, and Khloe Mae Brown; nephews, Ben Meriwether, Phillip Hall, Clayton Brown, and Sabastian Decker; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, February 27th from 12pm-4pm at Kraft Funeral Home (2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN). The funeral service will follow at 4pm with military honors.
