Joy Ann Creps

Joy Ann Creps, 85, of New Albany, passed away on May 22, 2026. She was born on December 6, 1940, in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Von Weddle and Aurelia (Speck) Weddle. Joy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, Indiana. She was a proud teacher and graduated with her Master's degree from Indiana University. She spent most of her career as an English and journalism teacher at New Albany High School.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, David Creps; and her brother, Thomas Weddle.

Joy is survived by her children, Stephen Creps (Marcela) and Tracy Creps; her granddaughters, Isabel and Marissa; her sister-in-law, Sheila Payton; her nieces, Debbie Galbreath and Michelle Hook; and her nephews, Doug and Martin Weddle.

A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.

A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Daisy Lane, New Albany, Indiana, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 am, with her entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana.
