Joyce Ann (Longest) McAllister, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away October 1, 2023 peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 82. Ann was a faithful member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, where she volunteered through the years for many activities. She graduated from Providence High School in 1959. After raising her four children, she began working for the Floyd County School System. Ann's love for children led her to be a special needs aide at Lucille Reisz and Silver Street Elementary School.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Court and Agnes Longest; her husband, Larry J. McAllister; and two sons, Mark S. McAllister and Michael L. McAllister.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura McAllister Eskridge and Lisa McAllister Short (Paul); her granddaughter, Makayla Eskridge Oberhausen (Josh) who was the apple of her eye; and a sister, Kaye Gettelfinger.
Visitation for Ann will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 9:30 AM at St. Mary of the Knobs Chapel, 3033 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119. Joyce will be laid to rest in St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
