Joyce Sims

Joyce Sims, 88, of New Albany, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at Green Valley Healthcare. She was born on March 9, 1938, in Crothersville, Indiana, to the late Nelson Tatlock and Helen (Flake) Tatlock. She was a long time resident of Clarksville, Indiana. Joyce was a secretary for several companies including attorneys and judges before becoming an administrative assistant in the banking industry. She was a longtime member of Saint Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana. Joyce loved sewing, art, gardening, and hosting family gatherings.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 61 years, John Richard Sims; her grandson, Christopher Goffinet; her elder sister, Pat Jacobs and younger brother, Ed Tatlock.

Joyce is survived by her caring children, Rex Lynn Sims (Sandy), Robin L. Sims (Robert Knoerr), and J.R. Sims (Tami); her grandchildren, Sarah (Jake) Hannon, Jacob Sims, Ben Goffinet, and Adam (Mikaela) Sims; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Olivia, Garrett, Natalie, and Ava; sister, Betty Hughes (LeRoy); and many extended family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held at Kraft Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm with services officiated by Friar John Bamman OFM Conv. Joyce's ashes will be inurned at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park following her memorial service.
