Karen Sue Jeffers- Weidner was born to Hazel M. Jeffers, and Donald E. Jeffers, on April 6, 1964, in New Albany, Indiana. She departed this life on July 21, 2026, peacefully with her family on vacation. She was one of three children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Nick Weidner, a son Bryan Weidner, her brother Donald Jeffers.
At an early age, she committed her life to God. She was baptized in Jesus' name at Eastside Christian Church and was a member of the WOW Group (Women of Worship).
She was educated through the Clark County Public School System and then furthered her education with nursing school at Ivy Tech Community College. She enjoyed working for Westminster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center; her residents were more like family. She was employed as the Residential QMA for over 18 years until her retirement.
She loved to cook, travel, take care of others, and read books, as well as being an avid bingo player.
She loved creating lasting memories with her family through her annual cruise vacations, exciting trips to Holiday World, and celebrating Independence Day by watching the fireworks display every Fourth of July at her home. These cherished traditions reflected her love for family, adventure, and life's special moments.
She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life and held the most special place in her heart. They were her greatest blessing, and she treasured every memory they created together.
She leaves to cherish her many loving memories her daughter, Chastity Jeffers; son, Robert (Christiana) Jeffers; grandchildren, Alonzo Jeffers, Isaiah Jeffers, Asia Murrell, Trevon Jeffers, Rayshawn Jeffers, Jabari Oats, and Briana Jeffers; great grandchildren Davi and Eli Mosley, her sister, Janet (Johnny) Hoyland; her beloved companion, Donald Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Wednesday, August 12th from 11:00am -12:00pm (2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN).
A funeral service celebrating Karen's life will be held at 12:00pm. in the chapel at Kraft Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
