Katherine "Kay" Alberta Milam

Katherine "Kay" Alberta Milam, 84, of New Albany, passed away October 25, 2020 at The Villages at Historic Silvercrest. The daughter of the late Albert Edward Smith and Florence May Hagg Smith, Kay was born March 10, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky. She retired from New Albany Floyd County School System where she was a Guidance Counselors at Floyd Central High School. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in New Albany, the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, NEA, the Pilot Club of New Albany and enjoyed spending time at Patoka Lake and Arcadia, Florida. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert H. Milam. She was a loving mother to Kendra Robin Milam Hunt (Terry Michael Hunt, II); and "Mimi" to her grandson, Tyler Michael Hunt and granddaughter, Kaylee Rose Hunt. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Funeral Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 in the Chapel of the funeral home with cremation to follow. Inurnment will be in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. The family requests expressions of sympathy in her memory be made to Alzheimer's Association.
