I work at Ivy Tech in the System Office and worked loosely with Kathy as part of the Business Office Directors team.  She was always such a delight and pleasure.  You could hear the smile on her face coming through in her voice.  My prayers continue for her family, friends and co-workers.

Oh Kathy!  You are already so so missed.  I'm not sure what to say except how much I will miss your hard outer shell and your squishy heart.  You were always so ready to help and to guide.  I love you for that and all kinds of other reasons.  I so wish we had had more time together.  <3

Curt and Hannah you have our deepest condolences. Kathy was a beautiful soul, her heart was so full of love and she was such a devoted Mother. She and I met during undergrad studies at Spalding University.  We partnered together for several projects and some of my fondest memories were those spent with her at the campus library doing research - we graduated together in 2008.  Kathy’s warm smile will be missed.  Symone, Stith and I will be keeping your family in our prayers. 





Thank you for doing life with us while you, Curt and Hannah lived in Pennsylvania.  We had wonderful times in lifegroup at Victory Church and enjoyed eating really big hamburgers.  Your love for God, family and friends was a great example of Jesus.  Thank you for your friendship.

One of the funniest memories was the day there was a bomb threat at our work.  Our receptionist ran through the building saying there was a bomb threat and while I sat there for a just a second to consider if I should even grab my purse or not, I heard the door close.  It was Kathy....she was out of there so fast!  She was such a confident woman...so steadfast in her principles and her love for her family.  I loved that about her.  Live, Laugh and Love truly applied to her every day of her life.  I will miss her dearly.  Praying for Curt and Hannah as they try to heal from the loss of this amazing woman. 

Curt has been like a little brother to me since we were kids.  I always hoped the best for him in his life.  When I came to know Kathy I realized that hope for Curtis had been realized in her.  I loved her devotion to her family.  That was the one thing about her, was love for her family.

I was lucky enough to work with Kathy since she began her career at Ivy Tech in Sellersburg a few years back. I knew Kathy as a strong woman and a force to be reckoned with. She definitely knew her stuff and if she didn't, she wouldn't speak it until she knew it was factual and by the book. I always, always, always appreciated that about her. If something needed to be done then it needed to be done correctly, no skimping or short-cuts. It seems she lived her life the same way, with no skimping or short-cuts. She understood that life was about working hard and living even harder. Last Friday, I was fortunate enough to share a table with Kathy and hear of her adventures and travels, her love for daughter, and the beauty of her home state of Washington. Kathy's love for her daughter was never-ending and you couldn't mistake that when you talked to her. She loved to talk about her daughter and her accomplishments, her beyond-her-years decision making skills, basketball, and was just so unmistakably proud. Kathy was a good woman, a great woman, and we'll continue missing her endlessly.
