

Ken was the son of the late Cecil C. and Edith Speckman McGee and was born October 25, 1932 in Louisville. He was a 1950 magna cum laude graduate of Male High School in Louisville and a 1954 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as an Air Force captain and logged over 2000 pilot hours in various fixed wing aircraft. After his military service, Ken served in management capacities at American Air Filter, General Electric, Tube Turns, Cissell Manufacturing and American Standard.
He was one of the original management team of Heritage Houses, the precursor to Humana and was one of the cofounders of Blue Grass Chemical of New Albany. Ken also founded and served until his death as CEO for 33 years of Kenray Associates, Inc., a computer software firm specializing in supply chain management software for the retail industry.
Over the past six decades, Ken has been a Sunday school teacher at Lynnhurst United Church of Christ in Louisville, Greenville Christian Church and St. Mark's Church of Christ in New Albany. He was a current member and elder at Floyds Knobs Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Decker McGee; sons, Kenneth Jr. (Rhonda), Floyds Knobs and Charles "Chuck" McGee (Valarie), Greenville; six grandchildren, Brandy Bailey (Dale), Chas McGee, Robbie Martin (Sabrina), Kyle McGee, Kara McGee and Brian McGee; three great-grandchildren, Issac Bailey, James Bailey and Lilly Martin; brother, Cecil F. McGee (Frieda), Louisville; nephews, James C. McGee, William G. McGee (Hillary), Chad J. Moreillon (Jen) and Kyle Moreillon; and niece, Betsy Carter (Dr. Thomas).
Funeral service with full military honors is 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. The family has chosen cremation. Visitation: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
