Kenneth William Schalk Sr.

Kenneth William Schalk Sr., age 82, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. Kenny was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 29, 1942 to the late Raymond Joseph Schalk and Evelyn Alice Rapp Schalk. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School class of 1960. He was a retired auditor for Payless Shoe Source with 47 years of service. Kenny was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and Senior Sunshine Roller Skating Club. He loved to deer hunt, spend time in the woods, fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Pat Schalk; four children, Cindy Austin, Kimberly Schalk, Kenneth Schalk Jr. and Sandy Johnson; grandchildren, Sarah (and her father, Lee), Jacob Speed, Mark Kennedy and Ava Schalk; his beloved dog, Honey Bee; two brothers, Ray Schalk (Alice), Michael Schalk; sisters-in-law, Janice Leber and Becky Giles; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Michelle, Joy and his neighbors.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119 with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth's memory may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
