Larry E. McKinney, 68, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at Hosparus Inpatient Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The son of the late Harold E. McKinney and Alma Mae (Miller) McKinney, he was born December 23, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam and retired from AT&T in Louisville after almost 40 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Galena and was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 6, with one more soon expected, great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Ruth (Denzik) McKinney; daughters, Melinda Bir (Tim), Lehia Mickells (Marshall); sons, Simon Harris (Teresa), Jeff Harris; brothers, Edwin, John, Donald, and Steven McKinney; sisters, Edna Dewald and Denise Arnold.
Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday and after 11:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with burial to follow in Galena Cemetery, Galena, Indiana.
