Lerald Ray Gray, age 89, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Lerald was born in Pekin, Indiana on April 17, 1934, to the late Herman Charles Gray and Ruby Violet Fisher Gray. He was a retired Meat Merchandising Representative with The Kroger Company with over 40 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Albany.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Soper Gray; siblings, Melvenia Gray Saxon, Louise Wade Morris; and a granddaughter, Lizzie Banet.
Lerald is survived by his wife, Melody Eames-Gray; two children, Beth Heeke (George) and Timothy Gray (Tama); six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, Norman Gray, Lowell Gray (June), Tom Gray (Bobbie), Dean Gray (Eileen) and Jenene Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with burial in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
The family requests no flowers or memorabilia but donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter.
