Linda Sue Harvey of New Albany, Indiana passed comfortably on November 13, 2025 at 89 years old. Linda, known as “Sue” or “Suzy” to friends and family, was born in New Albany on December 4th, 1935. She graduated from New Albany High School in 1953, and went on to earn her teaching degree from Indiana University in 1963. She married Jack K. Harvey at Holy Trinity Church in December of 1964. Linda taught elementary school in New Albany and at St. John’s in Starlight, and as her family grew and relocated she continued teaching and tutoring in Lexington, Kentucky and Evansville, Indiana. Following the death of her husband in 1987, Linda returned to New Albany with her children, where she lived until her passing. Throughout her adult life, Linda overcame challenges associated with multiple sclerosis, which she was diagnosed with in the early 1980s. She was an active member of the National MS Society and participated in annual fundraising events for the organization. In her later years she was a volunteer adult learning tutor and volunteered and worked at the Ivy Tech Community College Library. Linda was a lifelong learner and believed in the value of education. She loved reading, traveling, games and puzzles, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed tending her garden and bird-watching. Above all, Linda brought kindness, curiosity, and beauty into the world. She is survived by four children: Sarah Crago, Brian Harvey, Paul Harvey, and Ellen Harvey, and many loving friends and extended family.
