Linda Carol (Underwood) Heuser, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, unexpectedly and peacefully left this world on her 78th birthday, January 29, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Linda loved her family and cherished her role as Mom, Grandma, and GiGi. You could often find her tanning at the beach, reading a good book by the pool, or enjoying family vacations with her loved ones.
After retiring from Farbest Brands, she found joy in her trips to Kohl’s to use her Kohl’s Cash, in crocheting scarves for everyone (including the cats), and in caring for her grandbabies. Linda was a woman whose love knew no limits. A devoted mother and grandmother, she poured her heart into her grandchildren, nurturing them with patience, warmth, and unwavering support. When her grandchildren were grown, Linda’s capacity for love did not slow — it expanded.
Seeing that many others could benefit from the same care and encouragement she had so freely given, Linda extended her grandmotherly love beyond her own family. She became a source of comfort, wisdom, and kindness to friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. To many, she was a stand in grandmother, a trusted babysitter, an emphathetic listener, and a steady presence who made people feel seen and valued.
Linda will be remembered for her generous spirit, her gentle guidance, and her belief that love is meant to be shared widely. Her legacy lives on not only in her family but in the countless lives she touched with her open heart.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Myers; mother in law, Shirley Heuser; her brother, Ronnie Underwood; and beloved friends, Darlene and Dian.
She is survived by her son, Kevin (Becky) Heuser; daughter, Jennifer Heuser; grandchildren, Sydney, Taylor, and Abbi; great grandchild, Lyla; siblings, Gary (Donna) Underwood, Frances (Rex) Cahill, Karen (Michael) Brandon, and John (Courtney) Underwood; and treasured nieces and nephews who will forever carry her love and lessons in their hearts.
Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a funeral service at 7 p.m. In honor of her memory, feel free to wear purple.
