Linda (Zurschmeide) Huber

Linda (Zurschmeide) Huber, age 80, passed away on September 20, 2021 at home in Starlight, Indiana with her adoring husband and children at her side after critical illness. Linda was born July 19, 1941 in Jeffersonville to the late Edward and Mary (Banet) Zurschmeide along with her loved and surviving siblings of Bob (Faye) Zurschmeide; Carol (Jim) Koetter and Ronnie Banet. Linda graduated from Providence High School in 1959 where she met her soul mate, Carl Huber. Carl and Linda were married for 58 years and created a loving family of 4 children and 12 grandchildren: Greg and Jan Huber (AJ (Leah) Huber, Marcella (Dan) Hawk and Allison Huber); Dennis Huber (Brittany (Kevin), Hannah and Simon Huber) and Julie Janes; Carl Jr. and Tracy Huber (Carson, Haiden and Brooke Huber); and Ann and Craig Miiller (Jake, Carlie and Avery Miiller). Also, surviving are 9 great-grandchildren: Izzy, Myla, Emmy Lou, Quincy, James, Elliott, Owen, Waylon, and Leighton. Linda and Carl worked hard on the family farm and made many sacrifices with Gerald and Mary Jeanne Huber to create Huber’s Orchard, Winery & Vineyards while cherishing memories and sharing stories with family and friends. Linda’s family was most important to her, and she always took time to make each member feel special and loved. Linda was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight. Linda enjoyed playing cards with her dear sister-in-laws; traveling with CJ and Marie; gardening; making jam and baking pies. The family thanks the staff of Visiting Angels (especially Susan and Mary) for their dedication and compassionate care as well as Father Wilfred “Sonny” Day for his pastoral guidance. Visitation will be on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 2 p.m to 8 p.m at Huber Orchard & Winery-Plantation Hall. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, Indiana.
