Loyd Edward Harper

Loyd Edward Harper, age 87, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Loyd was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June, 21st, 1936, to the late Winnie Loyd Harper and Opal Mae (Compton) Harper. Loyd was a veteran of the Marine Corp and an owner of several types of automotive businesses. He was a loving father, grand and great grandfather.

Loyd is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mildred Hamilton, Evelyn Taylor, Mary Ritchie, and Leo Harper; and his grandson, Corey Harper.

Loyd is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Janet (Easley) Harper; their three children, Katherine (Donald) Betz, Edward (Windy) Harper, and Micheal (Julia) Harper; nine grandchildren, Shannon (David) Harper, Chris Bryant, Amanda (Jeremy) Smith, James (Brittany) Luttrull, Kelly (Matt) Owen, Alexander Harper, Branden (Jaclyn) Harper, Kasey (Bryan) Schroeder, and Lauren (Josiah) Powell; and 12 great-grandchildren to date.

Loyd's visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, 47150, on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

His Funeral Service will be at Kraft Funeral Service on Wednesday at 11:00 am with a private entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
