

Margaret Faris Owens (née Kenney), aged 85, of Columbus, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on September 10, 2024. Born on August 16, 1939, in Clarksville, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of the late James Donald Kenney Sr. and Lois Williams Kenney.
A proud alumna of Our Lady of Providence, Faris served with dedication as a dialysis technician until her retirement, after which she worked part-time at the Columbus Public Library in Hilliard, Ohio. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devout parishioner of Holy Rosary and St John Catholic Church, participating in many of its activities.
Known for her friendly nature, Faris had a capacity for making lifelong friends. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in her frequent walks through the parks of Columbus. She was an ardent fan of Ohio State and Indiana University sports, a voracious reader, and had a particular fondness for desserts, especially those involving ice cream and chocolate.
Faris's memory will be treasured by her children, Leilani (Carroll) Ashbaugh, Matthew (Cecilia) Owens, Micah (Steve) McCready, and Nick (Amy Hammond) Owens; and her sisters, Vada (Russell) Rogers and Leilani (John) Carney. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Timothy Owens, her brother, James Donald Kenney Jr, and her parents.
Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with inurnment to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. The family will gather to receive friends and family a hour before the service.
A traditional service will be held to honor Faris's life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Due to family medical issues prohibiting traveling, the service will be held at a later date.
