Margaret Ganley Read

Margaret Ganley “Maggie” Read, 90 years of age passed away Tuesday December 4, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, KY. Margaret was born on July 17, 1922 in New Albany, IN to the late John and Margaret Leist Ganley. She was a 1940 graduate of New Albany high School, retired office manager from the old Indiana Insurance Agency in New Albany, a catholic by faith, and was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Read, her sister, Gerry Ganley Heckaman, and her brother, Jack Ganley.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm ~ 7:00 pm Friday and after 11:00 am Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday in the Kraft Spring St. Chapel with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. Margaret’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Village East Assisted Living Center in Middletown, KY and the nurses in the palliative care unit at Baptist Hospital East.
