

Martin T. VanFleet passed on May 9, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on December 23, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Raymond L. VanFleet and Pearlene Schultise VanFleet. He was a retired mortgage broker and diesel mechanic. Marty was strong in his faith and attended meetings with his mom often. He loved motorcycles, cars, dark chocolate and guns but most of all loved his family and spending time with the children. His biggest joy in life was his daughter, Misty April.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a nephew, Karson Ray Lee Bolen and his beloved aunt, Dorothy A. Previtera.
Marty is survived by his beloved daughter, Misty April VanFleet (Brian); a son, John White; a "adopted" daughter, Amy Lovins (Brian); three brothers, Terry VanFleet, Todd VanFleet and Ray Moore; grandchildren, Jacqlynn, Sally, Lexi, Jason and Killian; great grandchildren, Levi, Anthony, Zane, Rhys, Malachi, and Eliane; a niece, Ashley VanFleet and an aunt, Betty Schnieders who both were dedicated caregivers to him. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on May 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm with burial to follow in Byrneville Cemetery.
