Mary Lee (Hager) Elsner, 84, died Thursday, January 14, 2021, at home with her loving family by her side. The daughter of the late William K. and Flora Lee (Pendleton) Hager, Mary Lee was born March 2, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky. She and her husband, James, lived in Memphis, Indiana for many years and she spent many hours working on the farm canning and doing whatever it took to help take care of her family. They later moved to Clarksville, Indiana and she became very active in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She loved her church, her family - especially her grandchildren - and loved to travel and go on cruises with her husband of 60 years, James.
Mary Lee is survived by her husband, James L. Elsner, Sr.; children, James L. Elsner Jr. (Kris), William E. Elsner (Kristina), Robert L. Elsner, Michael L. Elsner (Anita), Laura M. Zoeller (Greg), Mary Lynne Howlett, and Suzanna M. Elsner; sister, Anna Marie Miller; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 pm ~ 7 pm Monday, January 18th. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, January 19th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana with private burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
Expressions of sympathy in Mary Lee's memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
