MARY ROSE (DIDELOT) PIRTLE, 85, died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her home in Floyds Knobs. The daughter of the late Charles William and Margaret Mary (Bir) Didelot, Mary Rose was born April 30, 1929 in New Albany, Indiana. She was a homemaker, worked at Bridge Liquors in New Albany for 18 years and was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Mary Rose also enjoyed singing and shared her talent with residents of several nursing homes for many years. In addition to her parents, Mary Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Knofel L. Pirtle; son, Joseph W. Pirtle; grandson, Eric R. Paris; sisters, Agnes Klapheke and Esther Eisman; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Pirtle.
Survivors include her children, John Pirtle, Tony Pirtle (Debbie), Margaret Hersey (Darrick), Katie Wells (Mike), Kathleen Fischer (Carl), Mary Arntz (Rick),
Ann Paris (Don), Jan Birdwell (Jim) and Sheila Missi (Marvin); daughter-in-law, Jane Pirtle; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday and after 9:00 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. Her Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday at St. Mary of the Knobs Chapel (old church) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
