Michael “Mike” Prather, 72, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Mike was born on July 6, 1952, to the late Raymond and Mildred Jean (Burr) Prather. He owned and operated Falls of The Ohio Liquor store for many years until he retired and worked as a part-time employee of the Liquor Outlet in Clarksville, Indiana. He was a long-time member of the New Albany #39 Masonic Lodge for many years.
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed remodeling his home in his spare time and was always working on a project.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Ashlee Hawkins, as well as several of his siblings.
Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Jean Prather; children, Holly Hatfield (Randy), Robert Wesler (Melissa), and Jackie Wesler; grandchildren Makayla, C.J., Ciara, Bubba, Brandon (Kiley), Elizabeth, Sarah, and Erica as well as several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m., at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.
