Nancy Gayle (Hottle, Hammack) Burden

Nancy Gayle (Hottle, Hammack) Burden, 81 of New Albany, Indiana died on November 4, 2022 in the loving embrace of her family. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Delano Burden; a sister, Barbara Gordon and first husband, George Hammack.

Nancy was born February 14, 1941, in Palmyra, Indiana to Arthur and Viola (Shad) Hottle. She attended the schoolhouse adjacent to her home and enjoyed having her birthday celebrated with hearts by the entire class. She graduated from Morgan Township High School.

Nancy worked in the office of Scribner Junior High in New Albany, Indiana until her retirement where she made many friends of staff and students alike. Nancy and Frank loved to socialize with their dear friends in Okolona, Kentucky and travel across the country in Frank’s pickup with topper. She enjoyed staying in touch with her family members often attending the Hottle and Funk Family reunions. She enjoyed making Mystery Tours with her friends to places near and far.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Nancy) of Georgetown, Indiana, Ron (Wanda) of Greenville, Indiana, Dan (Laurie) of Santa Barbara, California and Margaret (Dale) of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Rick (Amanda), Sarah (Zach), Cindy (Terry), Donnie (Elizabeth), Venica and Jason (Jenna); great grandchildren: Tyler Sr., Rylee, Dexter, Vincent, Maddie, Jaxon, Jozi, Zachary, Austin, Clayborn and Zoey and great-great grandchild, Tyler Jr.

Memorial services will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana on December 3, 2022, at 3 PM with visitation from 1-3 PM.
