Norman William Barksdale, 71, of New Albany, Indiana passed away February 15, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 27, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William and Mary Guess Barksdale. He was the owner of Barksdale Home Remodeling and attended Shawnee Baptist Church. He was passionate about his collection of restored hot rods, enjoyed attending local car shows while listening to oldies music.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah Cranmer Barksdale; a daughter, Tonya (Jon) Simpson; two sons, Ronald Barksdale and Michael (Sarah) Barksdale; grandchildren, Mikey, Penelope, Jaycie, Erika, Alexis and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Easton; a brother, Donald Barksdale; as well as two nieces and special aunt, Linda Barksdale.

Visitation will be 2-8 pm on Sunday February 21, 2021 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday February 22, 2021 at the funeral home with private burial in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.

I knew Norman for many years he was always a lot of fun to be around. I haven’t seen him in years but have great memories of him. Sending prayers to all your family rest in peace sir

When I got my first job, I used to see Mr Barksdale frequently in the mornings while driving to work from Portland. I would wave like an insane person & he’d always wave back. I found out years later he never knew who the hell it was waving at him like a lunatic lol
I mostly knew him as “Michael’s dad” but he was definitely the Cool Dad ❤️
