Patricia Collins "Patsy" Murphy

Patricia Collins “Patsy” Murphy, 83 years of age died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. Patsy was born in Waco, Texas. As a child, she moved with her family to San Antonio, where she lived until the age of twenty. Patsy was the widow of Coach Pete Murphy who died in 1986. She was a life-long wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who raised eight children. Patsy and Pete lived in New Albany, Indiana until the family moved to San Antonio in 1970. Pete was the Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Trinity University until his death. Patsy was a devout Catholic. She will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends in both Texas and Indiana.

One great-grandchild: Ryleigh.

Sister-in-laws: Betty Jo Murphy (widow of Gene “Spider” Murphy)

San Antonio reception of family and friends will be from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm Saturday, November 10th with a Prayer Service at 3:00 pm at the Sunset North Funeral Home 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas. New Albany reception of family and friends will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 13th at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, November 14th at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
