Paul A. Schumacher

Paul A. Schumacher, 88 years of age died Saturday, December 27, 2014. He was born February 17, 1926 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Bernard and Catherine Schumacher. Paul was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from L. Thorn Company after 26 years. He was a charter member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was preceded in death by his son, Tony Schumacher and brother, Monsignor Louis Schumacher.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Wava Dooley Schumacher; children, Gerard Schumacher, Paula Paugh; sister, Gertrude Sabolchak; grandchildren, Tony Rainbolt (Theresa), Ryan Rainbolt, Kristan Rainbolt, Melissa Rainbolt Gettlefinger; great grandson,Skyler Rainbolt; numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen. His Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, Indiana.

Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
