Paul D Summers

Paul D. Summers, 79 years of age died Wednesday November 20, 2013. He was born in Georgetown, Indiana on May 3, 1934 to the late Ralph and Mary Wolfe Summers. Paul was retired from the United States Air Force as a TSGT after 21 years of serving his country. He also formerly worked at the Barks Lumber Co. in Central, Indiana. Paul loved his country and the military as well as his wife of sixty years Sue and his four children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and his flower gardens. Paul will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all his family, friends, and his pet Australian Shepherd named Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Summers.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Suzanna “Sue” Hammett Summers; children, Paula Hoefer and husband James, David Summers, Catherine Summers, Robert Summers; grandchildren, Brian Freker (Stephanie), Jamie Summers, Christopher Freker; great grandchildren, Jordyn, Elijah, and Joshua; brother, Harry Summers and wife Nancy; sister, Mary Ann Sollberger; several nieces and nephews.

Reception of Family and Friends will be from 11:00 am ~ 5:00 pm Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Kraft Spring St. Chapel with burial and Full Military Honors to follow at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
