

Paulette Parks Meeks went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 8, 2026, after a long health battle with lymphedema. Paulette was a beloved member of her community with many organizations benefiting from her involvement during her lifetime. She was saved at a young age and active in many churches through her lifetime including Scipio Baptist and Vienna Baptist Church. Paulette sewed and created clothes for her family as well as dolls and other keepsakes. She loved to decorate cakes and donated her abilities for numerous years to the Scipio Elementary Cake Walk. She was a 20 year 4-H leader and still enjoyed displaying her creations in open class. She enjoyed driving for Jolley Trolley of Clearwater, Busch Gardens, and Scott County Schools. She enjoyed employment in technology for school and teaching older adults to access technology.
Paulette is survived by three children: Loreana (Lori) Richards of Crawfordsville, Brian Meeks (Beverly) of Grant, AL, and Eric Meeks of Columbus. She also is survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved sister, Pamela Goldsmith (Tom) and a brother, Samuel Parks Junior (Myrna).
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Doris (Bridgewater) Burkett (Jim) and Samuel Parks Sr. (Donna) and a baby brother, Steven Parks.
Paulette loved her network of cousins and kept in touch with them as well as many friend groups for bingo and card playing.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Vienna Baptist Church, 11 West Leota Road, Scottsburg, IN 47170.
She chose cremation and her ashes will be at rest near her mother and brother in the Scottsburg Cemetery.
