Ralph "Jim" Doherty Jr.

Ralph "Jim" Doherty Jr., age 79, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 20, 1943, to the late Ralph J. Doherty and Doris H. Smith McCue. He was retired Registered Nurse with over 32 years of service with Methodist Hospital and ten years of service with Alliant Health System. Jim was a Corpsman veteran in the United States Navy and was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and IU Southeast. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved gardening, was a master griller and loved taking care of his yard.

On October 23, 1964, he married the love of his life, Constance M. Doherty. Together they had three daughters, Barbara Ann Prescott, Leah Ann Lima (Gary) and Laura Ann Dickson (Jeff); grandchildren, Grant, Jared, Forrest, Erynn and Evan; a sister, Lynn Ritz (John) and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence J. Doherty and stepfather, James L. McCue.

Visitation will be from 3-8 on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, and from 9-11 on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana with private burial to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
