The son of the late Ray C. and Gwendoline Wheeler Gibson Sr., he was born Aug. 6, 1945, in Hemelhemstead, England. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 in New Albany, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles in Jeffersonville and the Sellersburg Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Peggy Stilger Gibson; sons, Gregory Gibson, of Clarksville and Douglas Gibson, of Louisville; step-daughter, Jacqueline Mead, of Florida; sisters, Charlene Hupp and Lois McClure, of Clarksville; and six grandchildren, Jordan Morris, Cameron Morris, Tyler Croyle, Abigail Croyle, Madison Morris and Hailey Mead.
Cremation was chosen.
