Funeral service with military honors for Raymond H. Jackson, 81, of New Albany, will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
He was born Sept. 2, 1930 in Borden, to the late George and Eula Tevis Jackson. He was a retired boilermaker with Caldwell Tanks his entire life, a member of boilermakers union local 374 and after retirement enjoyed woodworking. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Hobart Beach Post 1693 V.F.W. and American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 in New Albany.
Survivors include a son, Keith R. Jackson and wife, Tammy, of Pekin; two grandchildren, Lacey Jackson and Breah Weber; four great-grandsons, Keagan, Conner, Jaxon, and Zane; and sister and caregiver, Evelyn Sweeney, of Memphis.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at funeral home.
